Child Safety Policy
Version 1 · Effective: October 19, 2026
This text is a draft; it will be finalised after legal review.
This page sets out the standards of the MeGroove app and the MeGroove website against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). MeGroove's developer and publisher: —.
MeGroove has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. Such content and behaviour are never accepted under any circumstances; when found, the content is removed, the account is closed permanently, the device is blocked, evidence is preserved and competent authorities are notified.
1. Scope
- These standards apply everywhere on MeGroove: profiles, profile photos, bios, stories, private messages and the photos and videos in them, and profile links on the website.
- On this page, "child" means anyone under 18.
- Content showing child sexual abuse (CSAM) is treated the same way whether it is real or not, a drawing, an edited image or generated by AI.
2. MeGroove is for adults only
- MeGroove is for people 18 and over and is published in the stores for adults only.
- The date of birth is asked at sign-up; where the phone can share age information, the age range the phone provides is checked too. People under 18 and parent-supervised accounts cannot create an account.
- Everyone's age is visible on their profile.
- The account of a user found to be under 18 is closed.
3. What is forbidden
- Any content that shows child sexual abuse or sexualises children.
- Contacting a child for sexual purposes, building trust with a child to deceive or prepare them for abuse (grooming), asking them for images or trying to persuade them to meet.
- Blackmailing a child or using a child's images for blackmail (sextortion).
- Facilitating, praising or encouraging the sexual exploitation or trafficking of children.
- Sharing, requesting, selling, exchanging or linking to such content.
4. How we prevent it
- Public photos (profile photos and stories), usernames and bios are screened automatically before they are published; because sexual content is forbidden anyway, sexual images are not published.
- Until a user replies, at most 3 messages can be sent to them and no photos or videos. Links other than Instagram, YouTube and Spotify are not shown in conversations.
- Every profile, story and message has an "Under 18" report reason.
- Reports about child safety are always reviewed by a person and with the highest priority; the automated system cannot close these reports on its own. A reported profile or story may be hidden from others without waiting for the review.
- Private messages are not scanned automatically; when they are reported, the messages coming from the reporting person's device and verified with the server signature are reviewed.
5. When a violation is found
- The content is removed.
- The account is closed permanently and deleted; no new account can be created with the same e-mail address.
- The device is blocked; no new account can be created from that device, even if the app is deleted and reinstalled.
- Evidence (the copy taken at the time of the report, the reported messages and media) and the account's legal access logs are kept securely for the legal period, even if the account is deleted, so that they can be handed to competent authorities.
- Competent authorities are notified:
- Such content is never downloaded to staff devices and is never copied or shared for any purpose other than reporting.
6. How to report
- In the app: choose "Report" from the menu of the profile or story, or by pressing and holding a message, and select the "Under 18" reason. Anonymous senders can be reported too. The person you report is blocked automatically and is not told who reported them.
- Outside the app (by e-mail): write to — or to the address on the support page. Include the username concerned and what you saw. Do not send, copy or share the content itself by e-mail; this may also be a crime.
- If a child is in immediate danger, first call the emergency number of the country you are in (112 in Türkiye).
7. Cooperation with competent authorities
- We answer duly made legal requests. Requests go to the legal requests address on the support page; no information is given before the request is verified as genuine.
- MeGroove knows who a person sending anonymous messages is; anonymity does not protect someone who harms children.
- The information we can give: legal access logs (e-mail, username, IP address, port, time) and preserved evidence. Because private messages are not kept permanently on our servers, we do not have message content, except what is kept as report evidence.
8. Compliance with the law
MeGroove complies with the child protection laws of Türkiye and of the countries where it provides its service.
9. Child safety point of contact
The point of contact for questions about MeGroove's child safety standards and practices, for reports and for requests from competent authorities:

The point of contact is authorised to speak about these standards and, when needed, to explain MeGroove's practices to competent authorities.
